Sidelying plank with abduction

  1. Activate the core
  2. Keep a straight line between the ankle, hip and shoulder

Technical notes

This is an advanced technique that is the most effective for activating the gluteus medius. The client must have good core control before this exercise is attempted.

Sidelying abductions may be preferred to this exercise as contemporary TFL activation with sidelying plank abductions are likely to be high.
